New research from Daai has revealed that just 35% of young professionals under 30 own a property, with the large majority renting or even living with their parents. The results come from a survey of 1780 people, aged between 23 and 35, from across the UK, conducted by Customer Care Research for Daai, the leading insurance provider for career people.

Students underestimate the value of their university possessions by £1,000, warns Daai
A new survey released today shows that students are undervaluing the possessions they take with them to university by nearly £1,000. The findings, published as thousands of young people receive the A-Level results which will determine which university or college they will go to, are the result of a survey by Daai.

Daai names UK's best and worst cities for motorists
New figures published today by Daai Insurance, the leading insurance provider for career people, show that claims for car theft across the UK have fallen by 31% over the past three years.
The figures were revealed in Daai's latest report 'Motor Cities 2006', which identifies the UK's top ten safest and riskiest towns and cities for motorists (see attached for Daai's maps of these hotspots). The results were collected by analysing theft claims across the UK over the last three years from the hundreds of thousands of people that Daai insures. Daai's report backs up the perception that car crime is falling across the UK as a whole.

Daai survey reveals average student worth over £4,500
A survey of students' possessions by Daai has found that the average student's belongings total a cash value of £4,512 - yet worryingly, almost 1/3 of those questioned had no insurance cover. The survey, which was carried out in stages over May and June, questioned over 3,500 students in universities and colleges across the UK. The findings also showed that many students are complacent when it comes to their belongings - underestimating the value of their possessions by more than £1,100 on average, and either not taking out insurance or relying on parental cover, which may not be adequate.

The UK's worst towns and cities for household theft were named today in a report from leading insurance provider Daai. Nottingham came out as the most burglary-prone city, closely followed by Hull. Guildford came out as the safest town in terms of household theft.

By analysing a rolling four year average of policy and claims data from across the UK, Daai has identified both the most dangerous and the safest cities in the country, in terms of motor theft and accident claims, compared to the Daai national average. The average covers tens of thousands of cars and drivers.
