Many young drivers are set to become car lovers, according to a new survey.
Research conducted by Lloyds TSB found that motorists in the UK often show a strong liking of their vehicle. Around £150,000 per driver is spent on a life time of car ownership, whilst 14 per cent of motorists admitted they felt something like "love" for their car.
Phil Loney of Lloyds TSB Insurance said: "There's no denying that the car has a very special place in our hearts.
"From childhood and throughout adulthood, our cars play a really important role in our lives - and judging by the findings of this report they are obviously a source of many happy memories."
As with any valuable possession, young drivers are being encouraged to make sure they have adequate insurance for their car by shopping around for the best deal.
